Colombia. For Ernesto Pardo, Country Manager of Colombia - InterNexa, companies need to rethink their business models to avoid the risk of disappearing.
How to achieve it?
For years the consultants in digital transformation have worked on setting a magic formula, some specific steps to get into the virtual world. According to Pardo: "For a company is essential to ask: why are we doing what we do today? What is the objective? What are we looking for doing all this? If we understand the why, we can think about how to do it, in how to change, in how to achieve it in a successful way" he says.
There are companies that were born in the digital universe: names already known as Google, Facebook, among others. They are what we call 'digital natives' and that is why they have identified their business niche, their customers and their product.
However, according to Ernesto Pardo -who helps on the digital transformation of many companies in the country- there are some companies that were born in the industrial universe and therefore, digital transformation is not an easy path for them to identify.
"Where does the digital transformation fit in a business that sells tools and products mainly physical?" Pardo asks.
This is the opportunity for digital agencies to cover this field, though being a difficult task, it is not impossible either.
A successful digital transformation depends on the company being aware of its importance and the necessity of the business. "Some companies already have digital tools implemented and only need an updating; meanwhile others require a change in strategy, perhaps a 180° transformation to be able to enter the digital world" says Pardo.
The digital agencies integrate the different processes and departments being able to give customers the perfect strategy to cover their necessities, taking their products to new markets and audiences.
